Before the beginning of class, students go to their class monitor to get an envelope which can keep their mobile phone from them during class time.
Students majoring in Horticulture and Landscape Gardening from the College of Horticulture and Plant Protection with Yangzhou University came up with this idea which helps to guarantee the teaching and learning qualities as well as classroom discipline.
“Many students forget to set their mobiles on silent mode. A sudden phone call will distract both students and teachers from the course, which considerably influence the classroom quality.” Said class monitor Liu Xian.
This idea proves to be popular among students. Xu, a student, said, “If we put mobiles in our pockets or drawers, we will check them from time to time which means some key points of the class will be missed. However, if we tuck them into envelopes and put them on the desk, we will not be distracted.”
