In order to further improve the urban air and environment quality, Nanjing will continue to enhance control over dust pollution at construction sites and on roads, according to the promotion conference on special control over dust pollution held in Nanjing on the afternoon of Feb 18.
From July 1, namely the month before the opening of Asian Youth Games (AYG), except the underway metro project, renovation of expressway network and other projects involved in AYG, ongoing construction work such as earthwork, demolition and landscaping at all the general construction sites especially those near the athlete village and competition venues shall be shut down. During the AYG, roads will be swept, flushed and sprinkled more frequently to ensure there’s no dirt retention on both trunk roads and sub-trunk roads.
The Asian Youth Games shall be held in the Nanjing this year from 16th to 24th August.
