Jacques Rogge, President of International Olympic Committee, visited Nanjing to investigate preparatory work for the second Summer Youth Olympic Games in a heavy smog from Jan 28 to 29.

Air quality became an unavoidable question at the news conference that Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (NYOGOC) held on the afternoon of Jan 29. Rogge believed Nanjing would ensure good air quality during Youth Olympic Games. Yang Weize, executive chairman of NYOGOC, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Nanjing Municipal Party Secretary, said Nanjing surely will fulfill its commitment to International Olympic Committee of ensuring clean air and good urban environment during YOG is held.
